Director Identification Number

All Company Directors must now have a Director Identification Number

All company directors must apply for and hold a valid ‘Director Identification Number’ — otherwise known as a DIN.

A Director ID is a unique identification number that all directors must hold to prove that a director’s identity has been verified. This is similar to a driver’s licence which provides that a driver’s identity has been verified.
The goal of a Director ID is to try to prevent directors from operating under fake and fraudulent names and also prevent illegal phoenix activity.

The ability to easily identify the company director is very important for the company’s shareholders, employees, creditors and others dealing with the company.
